Using the Toolbar

The Primary Workspace Toolbar

The default appearance of the toolbar can be customized. Right-click on the toolbar to access the toolbar shortcut menuClosed Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element.

To save screen space, the toolbar can be hidden.

To hide/show the toolbar do one of the following:

  • Choose Hide Toolbar from the Window menu.
  • On the keyboard, press Alt+Ctrl+0.

All the toolbar items initiate commands, or open pop-up menus for accessing commands. If a toolbar item has a small arrow pointing downward (), clicking that item opens a pop-up menu for accessing a variety of commands.

  1. Open the Customize Toolbar dialog box by doing one of the following:
  2. On the menu bar, choose Window>Customize Toolbar.

  3. Double-click on the toolbar.

  4. Add buttons to the toolbar by selecting items displayed in the left list and clicking Add.
  5. Remove buttons from the toolbar by selecting items displayed in the right list and clicking Remove.
  6. Rearrange buttons displayed on the toolbar by selecting an item in the right list and clicking Move Up or Move Down.

  2. Right-click on the item (resourceClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or module or folder) and select Save to Toolbar from the shortcut menu.
  3. Drag-and-drop the item directly to the toolbar.
  4. To open a favorite moduleClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource on the toolbar in a new workspace, click the toolbar item then press Control .
Icon Meaning Details
AmplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. Opens a pop-up menu with the same items listed in the Amplify menu
Analytics Opens a pop-up menu for selecting analysis options
Atlas Opens a pop-up menu for selecting a map background; the map opens in a separate Atlas zone
Characters Opens the Characters popover
Context Opens the selected text in a Text tab
Daily Reading Opens a new Workspace displaying the default Daily Reading
Diagram Opens a Diagram tab
Easy Install Opens the Easy Install dialog box for installing new content
English Tools Opens a pop-up menu for choosing and opening an English Tool module

Paper Opens a pop-up menu for creating a new Paper or opening a saved Paper
Parsing Opens a Parsing tab
Preferences Opens the Preferences dialog box
